For those of you who may not know, Dana White (UFC President) has a weekly television series that highlights the top prospects in the MMA game. The fighters have an exclusive opportunity to punch their ticket to the UFC. Tonight, Dana brings to us 5 fights on the show, and each fighter has the golden opportunity to earn a UFC contract at the end of the show. The main event features DELCO’s own Joseph “BodyBagz” Pyfer vs. fellow Pennsylvanian, Dustin Stoltzfus, in a Middleweight bout.
Joe Pyfer has come a long way in the fight game. He’s worked up the ladder the hard way, and is ready to cash in on the biggest opportunity of his career. “Bodybagz” started his amateur career in Xtreme Caged combat in 2016 with a knockout victory, and never looked back. He marched into Art of War Cage Fighting to dominate, and massacred the competition en route to the AOWCF Middleweight Championship. Next, Joe moved up the ladder to compete in one of the Northeast’s prime fighting organizations, Ring of Combat. He won the ROC Middleweight championship after his second fight. Pyfer suffered a setback in defending the title, losing to Jhonoven Pati via submission. However, Pyfer rebounded in a big way by winning via 2nd round knockout in his next contest against Chase Gamble. The time is now for Bodybagz, and he’s ready to show the MMA world what DELCO is all about!
The opponent standing across the octagon is fellow Pennsylvanian, Dustin Stoltzfus. Dustin has spent time in Germany the last 6 years kick-starting his MMA career. Dustin has impressed on German soil compiling a record of 12-1, and is currently on a 9 fight win streak. The submission specialist has fought most recently in the GMC (German MMA Championship). He’s won 2 fights in the promotion, and is ready to take the next step back on American soil in the UFC. The opportunity is there for Stotlzfus, but has a tough opponent in Joseph Pyfer standing in his way.
The main event match-up on Dana White’s Tuesday night Contender series will be an exciting one for sure. Dustin will look to get the fight to the ground and use his diverse submission arsenal to wear out Pyfer over the length of the 15 minute fight. However, the video above will show you that Dustin definitely has knockout power. “Bodybagz” will attempt to attack the Lancaster, PA native early and often. Joe will be the agressor using his strong and physical fighting style to out muscle his opponent, and hope to execute a quick victory. Pyfer will gladly accept the daunting task of being the first fighter to finish Dustin Stoltzfus inside of 15 minutes. You can almost guarantee the winner of this fight is walking out of the UFC Apex with a UFC contract and their life changed forever. The Battle of Pennsylvania Middleweights will be a fight you don’t want to miss! Tune in at 8pm for the full fight card on ESPN plus!
Uusally, I have no bias, but I have to represent my DELCO roots. I’m going to pick the DELCO native via Knockout! LET’S GO JOE!
