- Zarrukh Adashev missed weight by 2.5 lbs for his prelim bout with Tyson Nam.
- Ray Borg was forced to withdrawal from his bout due to a family emergency. He was replaced by Gustavo Lopez.
- The prelim bout between Jordan Griffin and Darrick Minner was cancelled after Minner fell ill during the weight cut.
Main Card (9pm ESPN)
Women’s Flyweight Bout
Jessica “Evil” Eye vs. Cynthia Cavillo
Odds: Eye (+105) Cavillo (-130)
Jessica Eye had a rough time with the weight cut, her second consecutive struggle attempting to weigh in at 125lbs. In December, she missed weight by 5lbs. Jessica tried hard, but missed weight by .25 lbs for tonight’s bout with Cynthia Cavillo.
“I’m done guys. I don’t think I can stand anymore.”
Jessica’s opponent appears ready to go and wants to make a name for herself in the flyweight division. Cynthia Cavillo is making her debut at flyweight after making the move up from strawweight. Cavillo asked for a fight at flyweight against a contender. She wants to fight a ranked fighter, and establish herself as a force in the division.
“I want to go in there guns blazing, and I want to prove that I’m one of the best in the world. “
Jessica Eye is expecting to get back into the title picture after a win this evening. “Evil” Eye is the #1 ranked Flyweight, and wants another crack at current champion, Valentina Shevchenko. Jessica is two fights removed from her championship bout with Shevchenko in which she was dominated. Jessica better not take her “eyes” (see what I did there) off the prize as Cynthia Cavillo is a formidable opponent capable of locking in a rear naked choke forcing a tapout. Who will win this battle? Will Eye use her boxing abilities to lay a knockout blow, or will Cynthia lock in the choke sending Jessica to dreamland?

Prediction: Cavillo via Submission 2nd Round
“Baby K” Karl Roberson vs. “The Italian Dream” Marvin Vettori
Odds: Roberson (+185) Vettori (-240)
The co-main event of the evening brings a ton of drama with it as these two were set to square off last month. However, Karl Roberson missed weight and was sent to the hospital. Marvin Vettori didn’t like the fact that Karl Roberson missed the bout thinking it was calculated. Roberson and his camp think Vettori set him up. It sounds like an afternoon soap opera.
Moving ahead to the rescheduled bout, Karl Roberson misses weight again! This time, he tipped the scales at 190.5lbs. That’s 4.5 lbs over, and completely unacceptable! In any event, Marvin Vettori is ready to pound his head in.
“I will F’N hurt him for sure.”
Marvin Vettori is entering tonight on a 2 fight win streak. His last defeat in the cage was against current champion Israel Adesanya. Vettori arguably gave Israel his toughest test in the octagon as they went the distance in a split decision loss. Vettori is a submission specialist winning 8 times in the cage via submission.
|Kopylov||LAST FIGHT||A. Sanchez|
Karl Roberson enters the contest tonight with hopes of shutting up the Italian dream in the octagon. Roberson is also riding a 2 fight win streak after his latest victory over Roman Kopylov via rear naked choke. At the very least, this fight should be entertaining with no fans as we’ll probably hear them talking trash back and forth as they attempt to knock each other out.
Prediction: Vettori via Submission, 1st Round
Catchweight Bout 140lbs
“The Machine” Merab Dvalishvali vs. Gustavo Lopez
Odds: Dvalishvali (-900) Lopez (+550)
The original bout was supposed to be Ray Borg squaring up against Merab Dvalishvali. However, Ray Borg had a family emergency forcing him to withdrawal from the bout. Judging from the tweet below, it suggests to involve his son. Wishing the best for his son.
Now, the scheduled bout will involve the current Combate Americas bantamweight champion, Gustavo Lopez. As drama seems to be following this fight card, Gustavo might as well contribute to the cause. The Combate Americas CEO had a brief moment where he wasn’t going to release Gustavo to fight tonight.
After giving it some thought, The CEO decided to release Lopez from his contract, and wish him good luck in the future. Gustavo brings some finishing power to the UFC. He’s finished 10 of his 11 opponents in victory. Gustavo hopes to make an exciting UFC debut.
Merab enters the octagon on a 3 fight win streak. The judges are very familiar with the machine as he’s gone the distance in his last 3 victories, and in 7 of his 10 wins overall. Merab trains under the Serra/Longo team, and is currently 3-2 in the UFC to date. The machine plans to continue his win streak, but can Gustavo shock the world winning this fight on very short notice? Only time will tell, but I can almost guarantee a finish if it does happens.

Prediction: Dvalishvali via Unanimous Decision
“Touchy” Andre Fili vs. “Air” Charles Jourdain
Odds: Jourdain (+185) Fili (-240)
The seasoned UFC veteran and recent movie star Andre Fili wants to get back in the win column after suffering a decision loss to Sodiq Yusuff his last time in the cage. Although he suffered defeat in his last fight, Fili is 4-2 in his last 6 fights.
“Air” Charles Jourdain looks to enter the octagon and win big over a good opponent in the division. Jourdain is 1-1 in the UFC. He entered the win column with a victory over Doo Ho Choi in his last fight. The Canadian is a former dual weight champion in the TKO promotion, and can’t wait to throw down with Fili in the cage.
“I can’t wait to kick Fili and just hear that noise of the impact of a shin to the stomach or a shin to his forearm. I cannot wait to hear that. There’s something pure about that. “
Prediction: Jourdain via KO, 2nd Round
Jordan Espinosa vs. “Bumble bee” Mark De La Rosa
Odds: De La Rosa (+135) Espinosa (-170)
This might be an elimination bout for these competitors. Espinosa and De La Rosa are both experiencing multiple fight losing streaks. Espinosa is on a 2 fight skid, while De La Rosa has lost 3 fights in a row. This fight is a long time coming for these fighters. Jordan Espinosa was supposed to make his debut vs. the Bumblebee back in 2018, but was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury.
|ESPINOSA||DE LA ROSA|
|14-7-0 (1 NC)||RECORD||(11-4-0)|
|(L) Perez||LAST FIGHT||(L) Paiva|
Both fighters are making the move up to bantamweight for this fight. Maybe this will help move one of these guys in the right direction. De La Rosa has posted 6 submission victories in 11 professional wins. Espinosa has 7 submissions in 14 wins. We’ll call this the battle of the submission for the rights to extend their tenure in the UFC. Good Luck fellas!
