The Greatest Day of Andy Delmore’s Career Was 20 Years Ago Today

Andy Delmore who? The Andy Delmore who owned the Pittsburgh Penguins on this day back in 2000. The rookie defenseman went bonkers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Andy Delmore, the offensive defenseman who only scored 43 career goals, took the Penguins to school netting his only career hat trick. Delmore was a stud in that series back in 2000. He lit the lamp for the game winner in Game 3 of the same series. The 3 goals in Game 5 helped the Flyers secure the victory, and eventually knock the pesky Penguins out of the playoffs.

Delmore became the the first rookie defenseman to record a hat trick, and became the only Flyers defenseman to record a playoff hat trick. Andy currently is an assistant coach with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

Have a Day Andy Belmore, and take a bow!
