The #Jaguars have heard from multiple interested teams about a possible trade for DE Yannick Ngakoue, who turns 25 today. The Jags value him and won’t give him away for little return but it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out as we draw closer to the draft.

Yannick Ngakoue has been flirting with the Eagles for the last month. He’s liking tweets about Jim Schwartz’s affection for elite pass rushers.

Fueling the fire telling the Jaguars to give the people what they want and the people definitely want Yannick.
Give the people what they want.

But I’m about to pour cold water on this trade boner. I want Ngakoue. I would love for one of the best pass rushers in the game. That’s easy. But that means bye Derek Barnett and a 2nd rounder at the least. It’s risky for a guy who’s only going to be tagged for one year and searching for a $22 million a year contract, which would make him the highest paid defensive end in the game. I’m perfectly content with the Eagles current defensive line as it sits. Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, Javon Hargrave, and Malik Jackson are more than suitable to cause havoc.
The Eagles are in need of a good draft. They’re depleted at WR and LB. They could use someone young to build around on the defensive & offensive line or secondary. Wide Receiver is where they are definitely going in the 1st followed by a DB or LB in the 2nd. It’s hard to pass on such a sufficient talent like Ngakoue, but at this time I’d rather them be smart and build.
Ah fuck it, Howie. Just go and get him. Give up a 2nd. We’ll have to beat teams 10-3 on our way to 19-0 and a Super Bowl title. It won’t be pretty, but when QBs start telling the media they refuse to play because they’re so scared of the defensive line that’s when we’ve known we won.
